14014416 H.O. Heads.....desirable?

I have a set of these.. And wanted to know how or if they differ from stock 1982 LG4 heads. As im not sure if there worth the trouble to install on my car or if I would be better off just selling them.

Thanks
-Michael

The only way to know is to pull a valve cover on your existing heads. You will be greated with 3 likely choices. 450, 416, 601. If you have a 450(60 cc chamber, 1.72 & 1.40 valves) they are for sure worth swapping. If you ported them the 416s would be a good replacement for a pair of 416s or 601.

The chance of those heads being different from your stock 1982 LG4 heads is probably something in the neighborhood of .0001%.

Check the 305 thread in the FAQ forum. Ported with 1.94"I/1.50" (or 1.60")E valves, they are very good.

So you dont think these heads are any different from the ones on my car? The specs on the H.O. head are 305 HO, 80-85, 58cc, 1.84-1.5, 165/59cc ports, Not sure what all that means. Ill have to go and check out that FAQ on the heads like you said..

Thanks

As you'll see in the FAQ 305 thread, the difference between the base LG4 and HO L69 is not in the heads.

Not sure of the source of your casting # info, but '86 used the 416s as well.

58cc - volume of the combustion chambers (most are actually slightly larger).

1.84-1.5 - the diameter of the intake and exhaust valves, respectively.

165/59cc - the volume of the intake and exhaust ports, respectively (165cc intake ports is actually very respectible).
