i remeoved my smog system to install some hedman headers to a y-pipe with no cat and a spintech muffler at the end, now the car backfries like hell, and this is at idle, wondering if there is a way to stop this even though i'm sure it has to do with the missing smog system??

also i was wondering if someone could get me a picture of where the oil gauge sensor is on the block cuz i think mine might be reading incorrectly and i want to check if i hit it taking off some of the smog components

Try playing with timing.

 

You've messed with its brain. You need to reprogram.
