??? need answered

ok on my lg4 i want to put new heads, intake and cam.
what are the sizes i should use for still a good running street car but that would lower my ET in the quater, i know since its a LG4 i could throw anything on it and make it faster because the motors are bottom of barrel and a dime a dozen. but i dont wanna pull the motor, and place a new one into it. my car has its own perks that i like with the 305 i dont want to upgrade to a 350 unless i get a 4th gen. which i plan too.

there are a few post on this already that have been talked about I wish I remember what they where though for you.
one guy I know of that you might talk to is dewey316 who with only minor mods has made his car fairly fast though I think it was a TBI. same ideas should apply though.

Yep. New exhaust from the heads to the rear. 1 5/8 primary headers, into full 3 inch exhaust should do it. From there you have to identify the weak point. SInce you have a carb'd car, do you have to pass emmisions? For the 305, you should pick parts that can be swapped to a bigger setup (ie 350). Even if you dont intend too, it will be nice to have later on. Assuming your engine has the stock heads on it, they are a good place for a 305 to start. Look up some posts on porting 416 heads. They are plentiful here. Those heads, after porting and bigger valves, can more than support what you are looking for. Perhaps a comp XE series or lunati VooDoo cam would fit the bill there. How radical is really up to you. As the cam gets bigger, you will need more and more stall converter and gears to back it up. As for intake, cant go wrong with a performer RPM.

It's had "fequently asked question" status for well over a year now.
