383" SBC clearance questions?
I am in the process of building a 383" SBC. I have a 4 bolt one piece rear seal GM block (roller cam) from a truck. My question is; will the "new" Eagle SIR I beam rods #SIR5700BBLW require any grinding to allow for clearance of the cam? Or is that the reason for the these new rods use capscrews instead of the traditional bolts and nuts? I am planning on using an Eagle rotating assy kit.
Thanks, Andy

I have the same combo. A Comp xr276hr & a Lunati 54756 cam clears in mine without grinding. Base circle on those cams are (IIRC) .875". As always, check clearances first! If a heavy plastic tie strap won't jam, while rotating the crank, between the cam & the shoulder of the rod you are good to go.
