valve lash?

valve lash?
ok i get how to adjust it but how do you know what to adjust it to? do i need to check mine when i assemble my heads? im using roller tip rockers

as long as it's the factory cam then just tighten the rocker nut until the pushrod JUST stops spinning freely and tighten 3/4 turn more. If it's an aftermarket cam then contact the manufacturer for how tight their lashes should be. For instance my comp cam needed 1/2 turn past zero lash, or when the pushrod stops spinning freely while the piston is at TDC compression.
