Car starting Problem

I have narrowed it down to the wires hooked to either the positive or negative battery terminal posts. This happened once before and i jiggled the wires and my car started right up. Also sometime when im turning my car the enginewill just shut off.. If you have any info please share it...

Crappy side post terminals. MY advice would be to go with top post terminals if at all possible. I have not done this as of yet so I can not advise you on how difficult it would be other than switching to the side post style cables locoated at the nearest autoparts store and buying a new battery if yours does not have the top terminals as well. I had the same problem and tightened the terminals and that seemed to solve it. On a difficulty scale of 1 to 10, I would blindly rate this at a 1 1/2. I have not had time to even think about working on my camaro yet because of my work schedule and other old chevys sitting in my driveway and garage. Peace out and good luck.

with the steering wheel deal, mine does the same thing. only it was after i tried "tightening the tilt steering column" well, not only did it not really work, i think i over tightened a bolt. possibly breaking it.. cause it just kept spinning. however, replacing the column bearings did help a little bit. but mine does it cause of something to do with the ignition switch how it turns or something when i turn the wheel. i think i'm just gonna get a new column..

The ignition tumbler is connected to the actual ignition switch via a rod. When the tilt column is loose, the rod can pull the ignition switch to the "Off" postition when the steering wheel (actually, the portion of the tilt column to which the steering wheel is attached) rocks.

Been there, done that. Very dangerous condition. Get it fixed.

I spoke from experience......Those side post terminals should be illegal. Stupid stupid stupid. I see no advantage that outweighs the main disadvantage. Also those suckers will trick you when you are at your local parts store having your battery checked. It will show a full charge when they are hooked on the tester but due to the nature of the design that full charge will not get to the cables when they are loose. You smell what I am cooking mang?Peace out.
