hello all....help
so after fixing a few things on my car I am getting 3 codes. 32,33, and 43 (EGR,MAP, and ESC respectively). can anybody think of why I would get all 3 at the same time? I'm thinking maybe a vacum leak, the timing is too far advanced, or the car is running too hot.

EGR relies on vacuum to open the valve right? MAP is vacuum based right? Isn't timing advance based on MAP, which is based on vacuum, thus setting off ESC code?
I think you nailed it. Starting fluid is your friend, but dangerous, carb cleaner is less noticeable when you get at the leak, but definitely useable.

I see you have a 350 TBI? Are you running a 350 knock sensor and injectors? What chip tuning have you done? What is done to the new motor?

well after poking around the engine bay I found a vacum (sp?) leak. I reconnected it and now I'm not getting any codes.
Shifty: yes I have a 350 knock sensor but no I don't have the right injectors and I don't have the ability to do any computer tuning, I know I need to but that requires money and that is somthing I lack.

i had switched from a 305 to a 350 in my truck(88 k1500) I did not change out the injectors. worst mistake ever. I had done the chip but the motor was not right. I ate up a head gasket within 7 months. then I replaced the gasket and had driven the truck around. had to rebuild the motor after the rest of it died.
change your injectors out before its too late.

hopefully in the near future I would like to get the holley 670 TBI. of course I don't know how "bolt on" it actually is, not to mention I don't know what kind of chip tuning I would need to do (not that I can do any anyway). anyway if someone could give me a few quick pros and cons of that I would appreiciate (sp?) it.

when I was looking around for my trucks tbi, I had found out that you could buy a chip and put it in for a 130 bux or so. the tbi is very simple to swap. basic hand tools and an hour or so.
the chip takes about 15 mins or so to install. just pull down the cpu. open it up carefully remove the old chip and carefully install the new one. put it back to gether and have fun.

for the 670 tbi I thought the openings are 2" and the intake is usually a 1 5/8" (or somthing like that). I thought there was some machining needed and some heavy programming.

another way is to get a 454 tbi unit. if that could save you some $$$$.
