Pick up coils

Can any of you tell me what year chevy engines use the pickup coil in the distibuter. I would like to know all years that it was used.

I think they're in all HEI setups from '75? -up, aren't they?

Pickup coils are used in every HEI distributor GM has used as far as I know.It doesn't matter if it's vac advance or comp controlled.

I've found them as options in 73-74 nova and camaro bodys as an option.
The motors were scooted forward when installed in those chasis'. The caps, rotors, etc are pretty much same from then to now I believe.
