So anyways I decide to try Rotella oil, just a $1 more then the other jugs of oil on the shelf.
Come home change oil, drive round the block n check oil level. Oil level is low and I don't know why. I dumped the whole jug in?
Rotella only has 3 quarts per jug, :huh?:
they sit on the shelf right next to 5 quart jugs, same size, near same price. Not the same amount of oil and its not clearly printed on the front. Only the side of the bottle has the quart lines molded into it.
I sure hope Rotella is as good as everyone says but I am sure glad I double check things.

Well, it has a reputation in the diesel crowd. Other than that, who are these "everyones" saying it's so good?

Last time I got some it was 4 quarts (1 gallon), not three. And most people suggest the Rotella T or Delvac 1. The regular rotella and delvac are getting very popular for the flat tappet crowd for break in. and boththe regular and synth for regular use.
F7K (much older than Y2K
), since the reformulations, the flat tappet crowd started paying attention to the two wheel crowd (and those that run wet clutches have known these brands for yeeeeaaaars) and the truck crowd for what works in there and why. IIRC the biggie is the zinc levels. I'm getting half as old as you, my memory is starting to slip.
