Spark plug questions
First off I have a 1985 Iroc Z with an LT1, T56, 4th gen rearend and complete 4th gen interior swap.
So I am putting in my plugs last night (AC dual platinum plus) these are the stock plugs and look to have some miles on them. I get to the last plug, #7 and it wont fit because I had to modify (shorten) the last two primarys on my hedders to clear my 4th gen HVAC box. So I loosened the hedder and I got the plug in but it is really close to the hedder and with the boot on there is about 1/8" clearance. I do have the Accel extreme 9000 plug wires but if you ask me that is still too close. I know that Accel makes hedder plugs that are 3/8" shorter, so I inquired and called Summit and the Accel Dual Platinum Hedder plugs are $12.31 a piece!!!! So I was wondering if I can run a standard small block chevrolet plug in the LT1? The standard Accel hedder plugs are only $20 a set.
