you guys are right and I have been wanting to hear what I wanted to hear.

like I stated I am starting to come into reality and I bought a 350 long block that I intend to start building.

the main reason that I am like this is that I spent 4 years on this car and this is the first time I get to drive it and I love it.

I took it on its first road trip during spring break and the rear end blew out on the way up. pinion bearing was howling. on the way back down this happens

You guys might think I am crazy but it was like my car was trying to tell me not to take her on the trip because the MAF sensor was going haywire, the knock sensor broke. one of my exsaust hangers fell off and the emergency brake cable froze up like an hour before I left.

Me bieng hard headed ignored all this and just keep fixing it. luckally the rear end blew up and the pinion nut and the yoke fell off just 10 miles from my buddies house. this made my spring break much more enjoyable as I am sure you can imagine.

I went from a 2.73 to a 3.42 and my car was more fun than ever. So I get it home and this happens.

I am going to put a cam in it and drive it untill it take a #$$% so if you have any tips on how to clean it better of any advise other than take it out before the 350 is done I would greatly appreciate it.

Should I have an engine flush done.

Happy that it runs....just run H/D filters, ones that are capable of holding a lot of crap and filtering really well...oil flow isnt a concern, filtration is......and a magnetic drainplug....and hope for the best. But it'll blow...just give it time. If it doesn't, it'll still never be the same. Do what you can, work with what you got, just don't forget.

While filter shopping ask for the 2 quart filters. They will help catch the trash left in the engine. I know the fram number is #F373 but cant remembers the others off the top of my head.

If your gonna run it till it coughs, I would change the oil twice as often as normal and just put cheap oil and, as said previously, use the large GM filter (cheap brand) to catch as much crap as possible. It will eventually take a dump on you, so my advice would be to not take it on long trips. This way when it does die, your close to home and not miles and miles away, forced into paying someone else huge dollars to get you home. Good luck with her.....

yeah I kind of wanted to go on a road trip but I think I should concentrate on building a new motor

at the very least I will be able to get her in and out of the garage while I paint my 69 C-10
