hey guys my buddie's car has the security light on. i turned the key on and jumped the starter and the car started. then i said it could be the key thats messed up and he got a new key still not the problem. what else could be an issue with this problem?

 

Improper use of the search function.

The wires are probably broken on the back of the cylinder. Do a search...there is tons of info on this on the boards.
