K-member swap, how to support engine?

I'm going to be swapping the k-member out on my 82 this weekend. I don't have a Cherry picker or anything so I need to support the engine somehow while I do the swap. Do you guys think it would be safe to place a board across the bottom of the oil pan and support it that way via a jack or jackstand? any other suggestions?

Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
I don't have a Cherry picker
Rent one.

Cheaper that way, than to buy an oil pan to replace the one you crush, AND rent a cherry picker.

Rental yard.

Trailer hitch (also from rental yard). Or, rent a truck for Home Depot for $20.
