Yours thoughts? I stumbled across this product the other day and was wondering if it really works? Its made by Total Seal. I think what you do is coat the cylinder walls with it and install the pistons/rings dry or with a little 30W, I'm not sure. Anyway, tell me what you know. Thanks.

I used it along with TSS gapless rings. I think the stuff works great! Your cylinder walls have to be really clean before you use it though...if it's clean, it'll leave a greenish film, and if not it'll be a black film.
I bought a tiny container of it - and when you see how small the container of the stuff is, you'd say there's no way it would be enough - but it is. I only used half of mine. From what I've seen, it does what it says - makes your rings initially seat within the first few minutes of break-in. Only oil you use is a light film of WD-40 on the pistons, then you drive em in!

I'm not using gapless rings, is that an issue?
So the rings are installed dry? And light coating of WD-40 on the piston skirts?
I have a roller cam so the only break in I need to worry about is the rings, so I want to make sure they seat as fast as possible.
Thanks

And in all fairness, I've rebuilt several engines before this, and had no problems with rings seating without using quickseal powder. But now that I have used it, I consider it cheap insurance!

Thanks for the insight. I think I'm going to try some of this stuff. Cheap insurance is the key right there.
On your second time around with your engine, did you find quickseat, or did your machinist recommend it?

He'd had a few others customers that swore by it.
