oil pressure

hey i just rebuilt a 1971 350 engine for my 83 trans am i put an high volume oil pump and a digital oil gauge. well my problem with the engine is when i start the car up the oil gauge read 72 psi but after 15 min of warming up it starts to drop to the 50 then in the 30's. when it reaches in the 30's the gauge starts to blink. is that suppose to happen. i've been using 10w-40 oil

Try another gauge and see what you get. 30 psi is plenty by the way.
