454 to 1200HP???!!

hey everybody, my friend just got a 454 Hi-per block and he wants to bore it out and stroke it to a 496, now he is going to put it in a second gen, and he went to nastyz28.com and asked how much it would cost to get his engine to pump out 1200ph. the response he has gotten is that it would run about 15 grand. I find that totally rediculus. I spent 4000 in parts and my thirdgen is around 500hp. He wants to supercharge his 454 with a Big root supercharger, which one we are still not sure. We think that he will have to spend about 8k on his engine to get 1200hp. Is it possible to get a 496 supercharged to be pumping out 1200hp with a budget of less than 8000 dollars? any response would be appreciated.

Yes it's possible. Trading parts, finding great deals and so on. Friend of mine built up a 440 BBC with a blower and injection hat, made around 1,000 hp. Not sure how much he spent but knowing him, it probably wasn't much.

trust me, this guy is the best at trading and barganing, he got a working conquest for $25. he knew what was wrong with the car, barganed it to 25 dollars, paid for it and then reached under the hood, apparently the conquest has a common problem of a wire in the starter coming loose, tightened the wire, fired it up and drove off.
