081 Heads
081 Heads
This is kind of a shot in the dark, but was wondering if anyone knows the combustion chamber size of 305 14101081 heads?
Know that they should not be any larger than 58 CC.
Thanks.

Nominal volume is 58cc.
Actual volumes reported go anywhere from 56cc to 62cc that I recall hearing.

Thanks for the volume. Same as the L98 Corvette head, which in theory means it's possible to run the L98 head on a 305 without a loss of the advertised compression ratio, (9.5:1). The only issue is the intake valve/cylinder shrouding problem due to the 1.94 valve.

No, the issue with aluminum heads is the loss of effective compression due to heat loss through the aluminum. You need to raise the static compression by about half a point with aluminum vs. iron to get the same power (all other things being equal).
1.94" valves aren't a problem with a 305.
