Don't beat on me light under WOT

I've got a '92 GTA with L98 in it, mostly stock with 51,000 miles. I can press the gas down up to say 90% or just about to the floor and the car gets up and goes no problem. But, if I floor it the check engine light will come on, then when I take my foot off the gas and wait about 5 seconds or so the light turns off. Under full throttle the car accelerates quickly and runs fine with the exception of the light coming on.

Any ideas what it could be?? To add, my car has lead a pretty good life, it hasn't ever seen snow/salt and It has been driven in the rain a few times. The first time I noticed this problem, I was out on a nice saturday ride on a clear day. With my luck as I was driving I went into a huge downpour for like 15minutes. I've have the check engine light problem ever since, maybe a sensor shorted out?? I also don't drive like a maniac all the time so its hard to tell if I've had the problem for a longer time and just didn't notice.

The car hasn't set a code, and thats probably because the check engine light doesn't stay on. But, that also doesn't make me feel any better if I am doing damage to it now. Any ideas?? Thanks.

If the light comes on, a code has been set.

Unless the ECM is at fault. Not likely.
