I have a 87 firebird with a 305 and roller lifters (i think)
Ive read you can change roller lifters without having to change the cam as well..
I have ticking which has been narrowed down to the lifters and i dont have the cash (or time) to do a complete cam swap
thanks for all replys

On a roller setup it doesnt really matter.
On a flat tappet you cannot change a cam without doing lifters but you can change the lifters without doing the cam. Because the flat tappet lifters have to 'seat' on the lobes in a flat tapped system!
