rough idle/hasn't been run in a while

well i finally got my '89 camaro 305 TBI back up and running again after many monthes of sitting due to tranny issues, the idle is not all that good and it is really sluggish
the gas has been sitting since last august though so that might be part of the reason and it should prob. get a tune-up
i did change the oil, so that is fresh
the other thing is i got mad at it one day and whacked the muffler with a ball peen a couple times and now there is a hole the size of my fist
just wondering if anybody has any suggestions other than new gas and a tune-up that could be causing this, due to it sitting, or if the huge hole in the muffler could be doing this

You have a temper just like mine

Put some better gas in it, and try it again.

I had the same problem with my 92 when it sat for almost 2 years. It would barely run... A new tank of gas and about a half hour on the highway cleared it right up.

Im sure a tune-up and a new muffler wouldnt hurt either,

Good Luck
