is "restore" oil additive a good compression restorer?

I've heard good and bad. I've seen two open motors after it's use. While it may or may not increase compression, it will leave all sorts of nasty inside. At least from what I have seen thus far.

GM's EOS is the only good oil additive out there IMO. Its great for breaking in engines or cams, and seems to help tired engines a bit as well.
