Mechanical problems?
Mechanical problems?
Hey!
I'm obviously new to these forums, so I'm hopin' y'all will be a bit patient with me here.
I'm seriously looking into getting an '82 Camaro and that's about all I know about it thus far (Haven't gone to check it out yet, buying it from a co-worker if I like it.) My big concern is what may go wrong with it in the semi-near future. I've been seeing a lot of Third-Gen Camaros up for sale in the want adds, and have been having a funny feeling about this particular car.
My question (And I hope that it relates to this particular board, since I saw no other to really put it in.): Is there anything I should know about the Camaro (82) before I buy one? Does the transmission go at a certain mileage in every car? Do the brakes fail, or eat themselves up prematurely? Does the engine like to fail in this model?
I don't want to invest in a car like this, if I'm going to have to turn around and drop thousands of dollars into repairs within a year of buying it (Unless I incur these repairs myself) because the particular model was designed faulty. I've read a few recalls, but it doesn't seem anything major. What I'm concerned about is the guts of the car.
Any and all information you all are able to give for or against the technical aspects of the '82 model Camaros is greatly appreciated, as it's EXTREAMLY difficult to find tech specs and reviews about this car (I've yet to run across anything.) Personal or mechanical experiences with this car are prefered, but I'd like to keep my eyes open for anything.
