I was stuck on the side of the highway!!

Hey everyone,
I need your help. I had the cruise control set at 65 and all of a sudden the car lost some power. At first I thought it was a bad alternator cause the voltmeter was a little lower then usual and the loss of power was similar to the time my alternator did take a dump on me, but the headlights were still bright. Within 5 seconds the engine "backfired" twice quickly and stalled out while I was doin 65. I got the car pulled over onto the shoulder and called a few local TGO buddies. I check for fuel, injectors were clicking and fuel was spraying. I then pulled the drivers side front plug, inserted a screw driver and checked for spark. Nothing, So I pulled the wire comimg off the coil and no spark there either. I checked the connections to the coil and the dist. Nothing. I replaced the coil in January with an Accel coil. Is it possible that the coil went bad already? I plan on buying a standard coil tomorrow and seeing if that works. I had a buddy called AAA and had the car towed to his apartment. I have to leave it there and after work tomorrow I'll get a ride and try to get it running. If it does run I'll order a MSD and return the standard coil when the MSD arrives. If it doesn't work what should I check/do next?

I had a MSD blaster coil die on me in 30 miles on my daily driver. Then once again, I had no spark from the coil, but the coil was fine. This time the ignition control module went bad.

How do you test to see which part is bad?

I took the coil out of my camaro and put it in my daily driver, and there was still no spark. So then I replaced the ICM.

Ok, I'm at work now (Chevy Dealership) and got a new Coil, ICM, and pickup coil to take with me to the car. I can return the parts that I don't install, so what should I check 1st and how do I check?

the one time my car left me stranded... the rotor had poped off in the distributor, and it took the coil with it. They parts guy had given me toe wrong part. replaced the rotor, cap and coil, and I was good to go. I'm not saying thats what happened to you, just pull the cap and have a look.
