Wow all this time, I thought that my car was just screwed up...now I know
Well yesterday was a pretty good day. I decided to replace my window motors so I can finally breathe the fresh air out of my car again and well let's just say I am still working on that. I should be able to get it done by tonight however.
Anyway...first thing is first.
Ever since I bought the car, I have had a glitchy idle problem (on very rare days it would idle smooth but about 95 percent of the time it would idle pretty bad)
Anyway, as I pulled into the autoparts store, the car started idling really really bad. The whole car would shake especially when i am at a dead stop. Anyway, I have finally concluded that....my car has a miss, it took me that long to realize that.
It would make sense that my car has a miss, because my plug wires are literally corroded and rusted out (I would replace them I just don't have the time yet)
Anyway, can a miss be caused by corroded plug wires? If I replace those wires, would the car be able to idle smoothly again? I have done everything else as far as routine maintenance goes...spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor, fuel filter, O2 sensor, TPS, everything, The engine is all checked up and maintained on except for those plug wires.
I didn't realize they were corroded until I pulled them off the distributor cap, I looked inside and saw some rusted particles and corrosion in there and I was like, that can't be good.
I have been guessing with this car since I bought it, I love it and everything but it has its faults, I just want to know one final time if I replace those plug wires, would she be fine as far as idle goes?

sounds like it would fix your problem. get the new set of wires. after all, you got a new cap, rotor, and spark plugs. so you might as well.
PS- good luck with the windows. It sounds like a PITA kinda job, mine come down pretty slow so sooner or later Im probably gonna have to do mine too.

Preventive maintenance makes your vehicle run like it was designed to.
Bad parts must be replaced or a vehicle will never run like it was designed to.
Therefore, preventive maintenance means replacing bad parts, which will make your car run like it was designed to.
Forget the window motor and replace your plugs, wires, distributor cap, and rotor. NOW.
You are throwing money out the window (yea, I know, the window doesn't work!) because a miss is gas money wasted.
After replacing those parts, you can see what else might be needed, IF the miss is still there. However, my bet is replacing those parts will take care of the miss.
After getting the engine running correctly, then repair the window. At least that is how I do things.
Good luck on the plug change. It can be a little tough, especially on a new guy. But take your time, replace one plug and one wire at at time. DO NOT pull all the plug wires off your distributor cap at one time.
