Spring Oil Change
I read somewhere that you should change your oil if your car has been sitting for a period of time, no matter how many miles it's been since the last oil change. Anyone have any insight on this? Is it true, or are they just trying to get you to buy more oil?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Sure, why not?
Get rid of any condensation buildup and any other goodies that got in there while it sat.
It doesnt cost anything to change oil... unless you go with some fancy synthetic oil.

If you just changed it before storage, that's a good thing. That means that there was no chance for acids to form in the oil from heat/cool cycles from starting and stopping the engine. And because of that, the engine didn't have to sit in an acid bath all winter long. You should be able to start and run the engine with no problems, and change the oil when it is due or when you store it again - Whichever comes first. I've been doing that for about 12 years now. I know that isn't much for empirical evidence, so if it doesn't work out, I'll let you know once I've tried it for a while.
