Well i hooked up a out of the tank fuel pump and left the old one in the tank will that work .im having feul problems.

I dont think it will... cause the fuel will need to get passed the pump in the tank first.You can try it and see what happens dont think it would hurt anything.

well thats it i tryed and it did'nt work. not enough fuel

I did this to get my ride home after my pump died on me 90 miles from home, and it worked fair. I had a pump from a 1989 Dodge Conquest (it was what I had) - but that pump produces way more fuel pressure than a standard 3rd gen pump. I did have to cycle the pump a few times before each start, to get the fuel sucked up through the dead pump and into the lines, but it did tide me over for 2 months until I got the time and resources to replace my intank pump.
