Plugging Oil Filter Bypass??

ive heard it might be a good idea to tap and plug the oil filter bypass so there is no way unfiltered oil can get back into the motor. Whats everyone think?

Great idea if you're shop, and the motor is at 75 degrees all the time. bad idea if you forget one morning, when its say, 15 degrees out and fire it up.

While the car won't get driven in the winter I can't say if I will want/need to start it when its cold for some reason...just a suggestion by my builder but I think I'll leave it alone.
