I have an 87 Trans Am GTA, 350 TPI, 5 speed. Looking for any kind of explanation. Checked fuel pump and it works, fuel is reaching engine, all wires coming off distributor are firing, and she's got air. It will crank until battery dies but will not start. At first turn of key she will turn over smoothly. After holding key for three or four turn overs the engine will begin to make a straining kind of noise. Sounds like it comes directly from the center of the engine block. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

 

Have any codes ? whats the fuel preasure at ?

 

I haven't checked fuel pressure. Engine light doesn't stay on. Can I still get a code?
