What’s though enough?

I am working on my 305 engine build up, and I am upgrading everything to be stronger. Right now I have a custom Banks Power Twin-Turbo System waiting to be put on my engine. Also I have all new custom crankshafts, rods, and custom pistons from Scat Crankshafts. Now, I was wandering what camshaft and heads I should use……I want them to be tough and able to stand high horse power and a great performance upgrade. If anyone has any suggestion I’ll be happy to have them because I have no clue what im looking for here. THANKS YALL!!!!!!!!!!!!

whats the budget? sounds like its pretty high...

In that case maybe a set of AFR's would be a decent choice.

Is the block a roller or flat tappet?

just out of sheer curiosity (someone was going to ask it sooner or later), why use a 305 shortblock and not a 350 one? I think with the budget you have planned, that shortblock would be a drop in the bucket....

those are sweet heads, but they're huge. What kind of power band are you looking for? on a 305, with the TT, and those heads, i'd think it'd be 3000-7000RPM or so... Mechanical roller cam would be ideal for it.

However, personally I think smaller port heads, and a shorter duration cam, would be nicer, give more torque at low end..... That is, if you ever wanted to have some fun on the street

I get that all the time. Well the reason i am using a 305 is that before i even thought of going to a 350; i bought the parts already. I wan't thinking at the time, and also the 305 is a brand new engine....i mean brand new....when i baught the car, so why waste a brand new engine. Plus Its never been done before, that i know of.

ok, as long as there is method behind the madness

actually I think willie has a TT 305, if that's what you meant "never been done before". I think he's mid 11's....

tell us your rear gear ratio
ideal power band
want to use pump gas or race fuel?
drive on the street or track only?

then we can pepper you with suggestions and criticism. Mostly criticism.

My rear gear ratio is 3.42 in a ten bolt rear
Im going to be running it on pump gas...its my daily driver.(yeah and it has around 600 hp, i know its crazy and maybe stuped)
like i said its going to be my daily driver and once and a while ill take it to my home town drag strip(Gateway)...but for the most part its going to be a daily driver and a show car.

i'd look at a comp turbo cam. Fairly high duration can be had with the turbo's i'd think. especially on the exhaust side. Perhaps better to ask in the forced induction forum, i'm not too knowledgeable on that subject. Solid roller would be my preference.
I've heard AFR heads (although great) have less than amazing parts on them. Try getting them bare, and add your own parts. Go for 7/16" rocker studs and rockers. solid cam, stud girdle.

I think 200cc intake ports would be plenty. maybe a bit higher. Maybe shoot for 8.5-9:1 CR with those aluminum heads, if you can. try for .040" quench distance.

with a mechanical roller, and TT intercooled, I can see a good 2500-7000RPM powerband being not out of the question. and yes, gobs and gobs of power.

I don't know anything about that TT setup, intercooled?
hmm, starting to drool here...
