egr control solenoid location

egr control solenoid location

searched the board

so now i need your

looking for the location for the egr control solenoid on a 91 L-98
also any help finding out why my Nox is so HIGH 1435 when max is 767 that like double HC and CO are good so im assuming cats are good right???
just replaced egr valve yesterday so next is the solenoid with your help thanks guys

From the info you posted, I'd say cats are fine. High NOx is def. EGR related. The solenoid should be in the same rough vicinity as your egr valve. You should also check that egr temp sensor (my wire was snapped) and any vac lines while you have the plenum off. Those vac lines get mighty brittle over the years...

(BTW, high NOx is caused by combustion temps that are too hot. not to be confused with general water temp)

to the right of the distributor?, the upper right hand corner is the fuel presure regulator??? or am i wrong

Yes that is the pressure regulator it has a vac line connecting to the plenum you see it clearly in the picture,you can rebuild the regulator to a adjustable type with the right tools/parts.

That's an older TPI - Coil in the cap. The EGR solenoid is the black rectangle next to and below the distributor. There are gray and black plastic vacuum lines connected to it. Removed, it looks like this:
