Engine Bay Cleanup - Pictures Take A Look

OK so I am new to this stuff and I happened by chance buying a 1988 Camaro with a 305TBI. I am really getting into it now and this site has been a huge help.

Take a look at my progress so far with the engine. No major mods yet, but maybe now I will actually be able to do some work on it with all the crap out of the way!

This is the before and after picture, just imagining how much easier it will be to do even basic stuff like change the spark plugs makes it worth it.

Heres everything that was removed, AC system, air system, cruise control. Also replaced the stock air cleaner with a edelbrock 14" open element. Good amount of weight there.

Step one is stock, step two is with the ac half removed, and step three is with it all gone (still need a non-ac heater box).

Get that covered before you drive to much. If i remember correctly your gasses ect from under the hood will make it into the cabin.

By all means! Spend more money, let more dirt into your engine. . .

buy some cheap flowtech headers or something and get rid of the manifolds, that will help clean it up more, or makes it look better

SIGARMS, Just an idea. Why not weigh all that stuff, and post the weight savings as well. How long did the A/C removal take?

If you get headers get ceramic coated the first time. I wish I did now I have to get them coated which ends up costing me more plus the price I paid for my headers. Jet Hot will sell you the headers already coated for a decent price and they will last longer than any other coated headers.
