Not your average AIR question
I am about ready to remove my smog pump and all the AIR lines. I have the correct sized belt and the drain plugs for the manifolds. I was wondering if anyone knew what I could use to plug the line that comes from the cat into the engine bay if I left the threaded part on there (the metal part). Something similar to a bottle cap was what I had in mind (I know it needs to be metal). Thanks in advance!
I used an iron cap for black pipe (gas pipe) from Home Depot, you could also use a galvanized plumbing cap from there. don't remember if it was 1/2", 5/8" or 3/4" though, might buy all 3 and take back the 2 you dont need, they cost ~$1.37 each.

I'll warn you in advance that its possible you will have a reaction between the two metals that will fuse them together quite nicely. Ask me how I know. I never expected that with the presumably stainless steel tube from the cat, but that end cap did NOT want to come off.
I would advise ultimately replacing the cat with a catco or similiar high flow cat, with AIR delete. This way you wont have the tube sitting there taking up space and causing other issues, the only reason for really keeping it is if you intend to replace the smog setup later for visual inspection, etc.

Thanks for all the help guys. I'll post up pics of everything once I am finished. This should be easy....they never are, though.
The thing about my cat is that...it's not there. Someone who had the car before me removed the cat completely and just had the line from the cat weilded into the exhaust pipe where the cat used to be. I was thiniking about removing the line, but decided to avoid the trouble and plug it and leave it be.
Thanks again!!
