Distributor help #1 spark plug???

i have an 85 T/A and i just put a 89 vette engine in it and me and my dad are at the time of starting it but we can't find out how you tell on the distributor where the #1 spark plug position is, it doesn't state it anywhere on the distributor with a number or a black top or anything there all the same, we got the car to start up and turn over but the timing is off and we might not have the wires set up right how can i tell which one it is thanks.

you can make it which ever one you want. Pull number one cylinder up on TDC and line the rotor up with one of the terminals. BAM, that's now your #1 position on the cap.

^^^^

It doesnt matter as long as the rotor points to the wire going to #1 while its at TDC and the rest are in sequence.

THE PROBLEM IS TERMINAL

It’s the front left terminal.
(Newbies: left means drivers side)
Happy Racing!
If people drove any slower
they’d be going backwards.
