Stumble/twitchy tach at cruise.
Here's my propblem, While cruising at part throttle I get an intermitent stumble and my tach bounces up 3-400 rpm with no actual rpm change.I replaced the plugs, wires, cap and rotor, and the distributer is fairly new. I'm thinking either, ignition module, coil, or pickup coil (even though the dizzy is new).My tps was off so I rest it and it still does it.Any ideas? It does fine when off the gas or if I give it more gas and it only does it between 1500 - 2500 rpm.No CEL

Well I unplugged that tan est plug at the passenger side firewall and took it around the block and it didn't do it. What would that lead me too? It's getting worse everytime I drive it.

Ok,I used my meter and set it to 2K on the ohm setting and got 1. when I probed the green wire on the pickup with the positive of the meter and neg of the meter to ground.I then probed both wires on the pickup connector and got .878.Am I doing it right?

Waa laa, it's fixed.I hate to admit it but it was 1 of the old spark plug wires. I was called into work on fathers day so I couldn't finish the # 6 and #8 wires. While I was messing with it today I found that everytime I touched the # 6 wire at the cap I would shock my arm.I raised the car and crawled under it.I saw that the # 6 wire was just bearly hanging on, I could see the tip of the plug
I guess that's why it was chugging and sputtering at the track in may and I could only run a 15.6. The car hasn't run this fast since I've owned it.The wire must have not been on all the way and was like that since the header install so I never got to feel the power increase the way it should have been. The idle is amazing now and the response is crisp.
On a sad note I found my outer tie rod on the passenger side is shot so I need to replace it but atleast it's not a distributor.
