Harmonic balancer and flywheel
Hey, I have heard many people with conflicting stories about these two. I know the operation of both, but my question is that I pulled off a flywheel from a 91RS (manual tranny) and need to know if the flywheel and balancer need to be matched. Don't want to have vibrations when its first started or bearings going out suddenly. What I am saying is that do these need to be a matched set or how to go about checking it? Not sure how many teeth on the flywheel, been too busy to count that high...
Thanks.
Thanks.

No, they're not matched.
The only time you'd have to worry about it would be if it was rebuilt and the machinist balanced the assembly by altering the flywheel or balancer.

they *should* be all neutral balanced. The balancing for 305/350 is internal so any balancer/flywheel should do the trick as long as its not off of a 400.
