14’s please help

14’s please help
I have a stock 305 TBI and I want to run low 14’s what would be the best way to get to this by putting in a 350 TBI or TPI or to put my money in to the 305. If it is putting in to the 305 what should I do to it for the most bang for my buck. Thank you all in advance

But you can still hit 12's on a N/A 305, do some searches!

Well I guess that the typical answer is the correct one....
Don't get me wrong. I love the 305! And as it's built today, I suspect that my car (a 305 LB9 TPI) would turn a very low 14. I'm happy with the way it runs, but it was expensive to make all these changes. And I did almost all of the work myself, so the labor was cheap! (Lots of beer, some new tools, and a few band-aids...)
If you compare what I have spent on just my heads/cam/fuel injectors/timing gear & chain, to the cost of buying the simplest 290 HP, 326 ft/lbs GM Crate 350, you'll see that this "brand new crate engine" will be about the same cost as building up an old used 305's top end.
When it's done, a 305, with the proper exhaust and PROM tuning, can have close to the same horse power & torque as this 290 HP stock 350 right out of the box.
I think that my 305 has really close to 290 HP & 326+ ft/lbs. And I'd bet that it took me more hours of work to get there, than just replacing it with a new crate engine would have.
And as a bonus, this particular crate engine is designed to run on an 87 octane gas/ethanol blend!
