Polyurethane Engine mounts
hey guys, i tried searching but i didn't come up with much. What polyurethane engine mounts do you guys recommend for a 350tpi? i'm pretty sure one of my stock mounts needs to be replaced because everytime i stab the throttle off the line i can feel a big BOOF like i went over a pothole(it wasn't a pothole, i confirmed the sound in a glass smooth parking lot just to make sure). Also, is it possible to install these motor mounts in your garage with some floor jacks? i don't have an engine crane and i like to do things myself instead of having a shop do it. i also would like to put on some hooker longtubes and read somewhere(i think) that polyurethane engine mounts help with clearance. any help is appreciated. thanks in advance.

they are really all the same... the biggest brand seems to be energy suspension... very inexpensive.. the everyday run of the mill autoparts store sells them over the counter
you need to lift the motor... you can jack the oil pan of you really want, I wouldnt recommend it since its kinda shade tree. You just need to lift one side at a time really, just get creative with a 2x4 and a jack.

I used ES poly mounts. IIRC, the OEM clam shell is reused, so a bit of welding will be required.

yea, I think if you line it up right, and bolt the mount to the k-member, then you don't really need to weld it.
I used new rubber mounts, as poly mounts tend to give you more engine vibration, FWIW
