hypertech performance chips

gow good are hypertech performance chips? i can get one from classic industries for a little over 100 bucks. what kind of gains would i see from an otherwise stock L03? i would also like to get a flowmaster 40 series muffler. i dont have much money but would like to get slightly more power out of my car.
