Couple more oil pan wonders
Well I got my oil pan today and before I put it on, I want to clear up wome questions of mine.
First off, I ordered the ARP bolt kit that changes all of the fasteners to bolts and not studs. I was just wondering if I need to use those stock rail spacers when I put it all back together? I got washers with the ARP bolts. What combination of things should I use to seal this pan right? I am just wondering because I am not sure what those rails/spacers do for the stock pan and bolts.
Second, My Felpro gasket says not to use any chemical adhesives when installing the gasket. Does this mean not to use RTV when installing my pan? Or should I use RTV anyway because I can see how it would help seal it all up?
Thank you guys, I just want to get this over with once and for all.

they probably say not to use chemical adhesives (RTV), so it's easier to remove later. It's a re-useable rubber gasket or something? If you don't plan on removing it, goop it up with RTV if you like. Usually you want to use RTV on one side, but not both, so that the gasket will stick to, lets say the oil pan, when you remove the pan, but not to the block. That way you can re-use it. At least that's what i've done with my valve covers.
not sure what "rails/spacers" you mean. I'm guessing they spread out the bolt clamp load over more of the rail ? I'd use 'em again.
