converting to Flex Fuel?

Just out of curiosity, a friend and I were discussing Flex Fuel and E85 stuff. I was wondering what is required to run a Flex Fuel setup? For example, I have an 85 305 block with an edelbrock carb, what would I have to do to run the newer fuels if that were something I'd want to do (which I'm not so plz dont bash me ).

Would a carb even be able to run the new fuels or would you have to have a fuel injected setup with a computer that you can burn a custom tune to?
