The Legend Continues...
PROJECT BULLETPROOF IS ON THE ROAD!
The Firebird lives again!
I drove my car all day today in the beautiful sunshine with the top down. Half a tank of gas later and I'm still so happy. Three bucks a gallon? Pshh, it's worth it. This is the fastest car I've ever driven, AND I BUILT IT.
I have a few minor things to work out- when I put the motor in, I smashed the brake line under the engine on the cradle (front passenger brake line) so I had to cut and crimp it off temporarily just to be able to move the car. Don't worry- it's temporary. Fixing it Tuesday at school.
Also I just need to fidget with my mixes a bit more, it's really rich at idle... But I've got the timing and idle speeds perfect.
The hood is not bolted on yet, and the looks I get are amazing. The thump of this engine through the exhaust is musical.

Congradulations man!
You know, you may have beaten me when it comes to getting the car on the road, but I still win at having my engine running first
I still need insurance/registration and I need to tweak a few things here and there, but other than that its all ready to go.
I remember last year when you posted about blowing up your engine.
I did the same damn thing you did.

You can see the carnage that was unleashed inside of my poor goodwrench "hecho en mexico" 350.
I have the engine laying in my garage, still havent pulled the oil pan to see whats really going on in there.
But yeah, your cars probably faster than mine but im content with that. You put a lot better parts in your engine than I have.
Sooooo true.

The onoy thing better than having a strong running and reliable engine is being able to say "I turned every nut and bolt inside that engine myself!"
Congrats and have fun with it!
