Fuel vapor canister clogged

How do you unclog the furel vapor cannister? what causes this to clog? Is it possible for it to clog so bad that it leaks fuel?

I have seen this before, it is a charcoal canister, so I think you have to replace it.

Will this cause a gas smell when you stop or after filling the tank?

Don't these things fail after a couple of years anyhow? Read that on another forum on TGO.

I am not sure, I just smelled the problem and observed that there was "sweating" on the fuel lines that were on the frame rails. I changed the fuel lines out and the smell near the cannister went away... I think what the problem was, was that there was air coming into the lines kinda like what happens when you sip through a straw with a hole in it. I think this caused additional vapors to be created and thus the gas smell coming from the cannister because there is no longer any gas smell from that area...

Probably. I just heard from someone that they could be rebuilt...
