A/C Removal

First off, I searched and couldnt find a straight answer. First off my a/c dosent work and Ive gotten used to not using it, so I dont need/want it anymore, plus I want to free up some space. I heard that if I remove the whole A/C system I will loose my defroster, so I want to remove as much of the A/C system without loosing my defroster. What all can I take out. Thanks

dont get rid of the blower moter!

The blower motor under the hood is required to be able just to push the air. The controls over the radio will have to be kept obviously. under the hood get rid of the compressor the dryer and the evaporator core. After you take the evaporator core out of the box on the firewall you will have to seal it so the blower work effiently. I attached a pic with the items mentioned circled. I do not see a need to remove the evaporator core as the box would still be there usless you want to drop like maybe two pounds. Anything else I am not sure about.

OK

THE ONLY THING THE DEFROSTER AND THE A/C HAVE LINKED TOGETHER IS THE AC TAKES THE MOISTER OUT OF THE AIR (KINDA DRYES IT) IF YOUR AC IS PLUGED IN AND HOOKED UP , WHEN YOU TURN THE DEFROSTER ON YOUR COMPRESSOR WILL RUN TO DRY THE AIR
sorry about the caps
any ways i took every think out of mine (condensor, compressor, can every thing axcept the blower motor and the box that it in and i still have heat and my defroster works the only problem is that it takes a wile to defrost the windsheild in the morning befor workb ut outher than that if ya need it defrosted fast turn the defroster on and turn it to hot
hope this helps
