*** 1988 5.0 T.P.I Plug wiring ?? ***

I bought what is titled as a 1987 Camaro & did some searching to verify that it's a1987 IROC w/5.0l T.P.I.. When i went to get stuff for a tune up (plugs, wires, ect) I was pointed out that that it has the cap & rotor setup of a 88'. So a couple of guys stated I should tune & time it to 88' specs.

My question is can someone PLEASE post me a picture as if your standing at the nose of the car looking over the engine that shows what spark plug to what position on the dist. cap the wires go. Thanks!

Since '87 & '88 are identical, and all small block (and big block, for that matter) Chevy engines have the same firing order, about all you need to know is that the counterdudes at your parts store are idiots.

Here you go:

5.0L and 5.7L (VIN 8) Engines - Engine firing order: 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2- Distributor Rotation: Clockwise

Oh, you mean you took all of the wires off of the old cap, instead of replacing them one at a time????
