Ignition Power Problem ..... Won't turn over
Hey guys,
I have an 87 GTA that ran and started fine. While working on the exhaust, i had the starter off, when i put everything back all of the power accessories worked fine until i turned the key and everything went dead as if a breaker was tripped. The car would not turn over at this point, after waiting a few minutes, the power returned to the accessories. This process repeated a few more times, until it finally turned over and started.
This has been happening for a couple of weeks on and off, but now it always loses power when the key is turned over. Another detail is that recently the ignition tumbler has been getting more difficult to turn. Im not sure if this is related or not.
Some of the things i think it could be is possibly a bad connection to the starter solenoid or the solenoid itself. I don't think it is a fusible link because the problem was intermittant. Maybe a relay?, or ignition switch?
