rocker arm studs
How much lift can the stock pressed in rocker arm studs on 081 heads handle? Im putting the LT4 production cam in my engine (not the hot cam).
The specs are like .450 with 1.5's and .480 with 1.6's. Do i need to get screw-in studs for that cam?
thanks
Bryan

I'm inclined to say that you can get away without studding the rockers. As long as you're not spinning the motor up too tight and don't have monster springs in it I doubt you'll have problems. I heard once...don't 'member where...that above .500 you should go studs.

it's more about spring pressure, but yea, .470" lift is a good # to throw out.
I'd do the roll pin thing. Get a mittfull of 3/32" roll pins, 1" long, and 3 or so 3/32" carbide drill bits, and some cutting oil. Or BACON GREASE!
