Noise

Ticking noise in the middle of the engine?????? Just bought this car about 2 months ago and noticed that it has started to give off a ticking noise towards the center the the engine. Ive pulled covers off on both sides checked rockers rods and valve but just doesnt seem to be coming from the heads. Got a code 32 the other day i belive is an EGR valve code. The Egr is funtioning fine though. Ran emissions on it though and had to high co readings any ideas??????????? Engine is a 88 tpi LB9 305 75k miles on it.

A very faint tick could be injectors. That would be completely normal. The high CO readings, however, are not. By itself (without a high HC reading accompanying it), it might indicate inadequate air being injected to the cat converter or a failing converter.
