well SOMETHING is broke...
...i'm positive i've already done catastrophic damage to the rotating assembly but here is the situation:
-two weeks ago i took the car to the track. as we went to leave, i cranked the car and it spun like "wiggity-wiggity-BANG!" like it hit a wall! very discouraged i snatched the hood off the car and whipped out my 1/2" drive and a 5/8" deep well and rotated the motor over by hand...everything seemed fine, went in and blipped the key and it fired right up. ok, weird i thought but no biggie. car seemed to run great so we took off and went to the track.
while we were at the track i snatched the belt off and put a Mr Gasket electric water pump drive on her, looking for the 2 tenths i was missing from my last trek out in may...but the 12.50 pass i made in may was in far better air and i was running the water pump drive on that pass as well. best pass with the alt. belt on was a 12.76, best pass with the mr. gasket water pump drive was a 12.74. after the first pass with the EWPD i looked down and the temp guage was PEGGED; the EWPD was too tight and wouldn't turn the pulley, so i backed it off. i also noticed i had lost some fluid from the radiator from the radiator cap. no biggie, we filled the rad. back up and put the pulleys/belt back on the car and made a few more passes. on my way home, the car started to run hot (like 195*, normally is in the 175* range.) fought with it a bit that night, but my g/f came over and i called it a night. filled up rad. again next morning after realizing that night that the problem was the fact that there was little/no water in the rad. from what i thought was my leaky radiator cap.
-few days later, i'm filling the rad. back up at the BP off hartley bridge road. i had had another "wiggity-wiggity-BANG" episode earlier that day, but i didn't think anything of it. next morning i picked up a new rad. cap and called it done.
-friday i'm at sean's place and i go to move the car "wiggity-wiggity-BANG!"...DANGIT!!! what the heck is going on? well the car has been having some charging issues since i kinda slapped together a 1-wire alternator using parts leftover from two bad ones. whipped out the ratchet and 5/8" again and got it free and fired it right up.
-all this time when i go to fire the car up, it would sound like it was only running on 6 or 7 cylinders. i didn't ever really think about it till today.
-today, after church we're out cruising and see some folks we know and pull in the parking lot. look down and the guage is sitting at like 215*! pull into a spot and take the hood off. first thing i think to check is the oil....well...i've got water in the crankcase. same stuff i was dealing with with the 360. however, NOW i think that the 360 block is actually OK, but in fact the cylinder heads are messed up. so my magical 113 casting aluminum vette heads actually SUCK, ALOT! the "wiggity-wiggity-BANG" i'm experiencing (happend two times today already, it's getting more frequent) is actually water in the combustion chamber (my theory) and it's compressed in one of the cylinders. which would also explain why i have to "clear the engines throat" whenever i fire it up, cuase there is water in one or two holes.
so, here is my question, has anyone used that Bars Leak block sealer stuff? the "good" stuff that supposed to take a full 24 hours to work. is it any good? will it work well enough for me to get a new long block together? i'm thinking of just completely starting over and building something with all new parts. i'm almost positive that i've hurt the bottom end of the 305 with all the "wiggity-wiggity-BANG!" fire up attempts....i'm sure my rods/crank are screaming at me right now.
thoughts? suggestions? free vortec cylinder heads for the new engine?

If your 360 is ok then throw your old 416s on it. It might not be as fast as it was but it could get you around till you build your new motor.

Sounds like a leaky head gasket. Have you tried pressure testing your cooling system?

I don't know if that bars leak will stop a leak going to the combustion chamber :/ Take the spark plugs out and see how much water is shooting out of which cylinder.

if your getting water into a cylinder from a head gasket, there is nothing that will fix it other than tearing it down & a new set of gaskets.
you can bend a rod from hydraulically locking the motor, even if you don't bend a rod, it still isn't good on the motor.
