Probably not; since that's not how it's done in these cars. That's not how they're put together, so that's now how you take them apart. Even if you decided to do it like that, it would be several times as much work as doing it the right way, which is a piece of cake.

There's only 6 bolts holding the k-member in so it is possible.
You would have to disconnect the struts and brake lines. Personnally, I think it would be easier to go out the top.

I took mine out of the bottom. What do you wanna know? There is no such thing as a walk through or any real details. Youjust sotra do it. I had to as the garadge where I am building my car could not fit a hoist in it. Really not that bad at all. Just about everything was out of my car though. I was doing a total 100% rip down. If you wanna JUST pull the motor, go out the top.

But I agree. There may be 6 bolts holding the k-member on,but theres a whole ton of other crap to take off. I've done k-member swaps, it sucks.

Right; 4th gens, and a whole lot of others including FWD ones, come apart that way, where you pull the car off of the engine as opposed to pulling the engine out of the car.
