Power steering pump

I have an 85 iroc with a short waterpump and accesories everything is lined up and working fine.I want to hook back up my power steering but when i put the power steering pump in place it does not seem to line up with the pulley's (the steering pump is a long pump).Do i need to get a 67-69 1st gen (short) power steering pump and bracket's or will i be able to get my original one to work.

Thanks.

Jeff.

You could investigate the pump arrangement on Corvettes, up to about 1982, since they used the shorter pumps.

Car: Yes
Engine: Usually
Transmission: Sometimes
Axle/Gears: Behind me somewhere
I think the smarter thing to do might be to get the right pump & brackets for your car, rather than try to graunch all the wrong stuff onto it.

The same brackets come on virtually all Chevy V8s in all vehicles of the time; not only these cars, but also trucks, Caprices, Mlaibus, Monte Carols, etc. etc. etc. from around 80 to 86. Shouldn't be too hard to locate, even in your locale.
